OBJECTIVES
- Develop a 3D culture system in vitro to support conceptus development based on knowledge of changes in uterine lumen fluid composition between Days 12-16 and changes in conceptus metabolism during this period.
- To create an atlas of spatiotemporal transcriptomic and morphological changes occurring during gastrulation in cattle will serve as a primary basis for biological interpretation and functional validation of other models to interrogate the causes of embryonic loss, to develop/refine in vitro models of gastrulation and to establish strategies to improve fertility.
